Ilocano 102 (Daniw)

Niriing nak ti tarakitik dagiti bulbulong
Ken ti nalamiis a pul-oy ti angin,
Kas niyebe a naiwaras iti tangatang,
Nga immapros ti napudot a rupak.

(Ginising ako ng tunog ng mga dahon
At malamig na simoy ng hangin
Animo’y niyebe na nakakalat sa kalangitan
Na humaplos sa mainit kong mukha.)

Urayenak dung-ngo ket inta imatangan,
Iti baro nga aldaw nga insagut ti Namarsua.
Wen, ukoden ta nga agpada iti naturog a lasag,
Ragsak nga naimpusuan iraman ta ti kararag.

(Hintayin mo ako irog at ating panoorin
Ang bagong araw na alay ng Tagalikha
Oo,sabay natin akayin ang natulog na kalamnan,
Kasiyahang mula sa puso, isali natin sa panalangin.)

-(September 5, 2011)

I have been called eccentric by my friends in college and post-school. I used to make poetry and most of my compositions were written on receipts, back pages of my books and notebooks. When I finished school, I gathered all the "surviving" pieces and retrieved only about 80%. I transferred them to a decent paper (in my handwriting). I scribble whenever I can. I am just surprised though that I compose faster when I'm bored with lectures and a way lot better when "in love". Yihaaa!

As a continuation of the Ilocano 101 (“Cracked” Course), above is a sample of a composition made just an hour ago, before I was interrupted by...secret! Translation provided. It’s supposed to be about waking up. Palibhasa puyat. So difficult to wake up on a Monday morning. That’s why I still feel sleepy until now.

Will post more tomorrow (in English of course) after choosing a "cheesier" one.

Abangan... ang kesooo!
