oven-cooked lean beef burger

It was actually Y who convinced me to try making oven-cooked beef burger.(OC-BB)

Because I am cutting on my food consumption without sacrificing my "carnivorous" inclination, I wanted my protein to be this "OC-BB".

OC-BB

I placed the patties in a grill and cooked it for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. the 2 slices wheat bread, 1.5 romaine lettuce, 3 slices tomatoes and cucumber, topped with 1.5 tsp of mustard, 1 tsp of sandwich spread and.... Yummy! One serving is equivalent to 484 calories. I washed the meaty aftertaste with half cup of sliced navel orange and I felt great!

I just mixed 250 grams of ground lean beef, cumin, 1/2 tsp of salt, pepper, 1 minced onion, cayenne pepper and 3 cloves crushed garlic. It's so delicious minus the grease when frying!

MyFitnessPal

After achieving 15.4lbs weight loss through GM Diet, I vowed not to gain it back.

I have read from several websites that the healthiest weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week- a weight loss that is gradual. It's just so fun to eat without the packed fats as aftermath. But why should I deprive myself from eating the food that I loved? I can't starve! It isn't World War yet!

So, I did some reading and found out that you can enjoy every food you want all in moderation. Food need not be salad or tasteless veggies and everything when dieting. MODERATION is the key.

I bumped into this website and started counting the calorie intake per day. I plan my meals and stick only to the food and amount of servings as mentioned in my Food Diary (FD). On certain times of the day, I crave for a "sinful" munch. I take a very little portion and enjoy the taste. Well, for now it's working. Example was yesterday when a colleague gave me pili tarts. Of course, I need to taste at least one. So indulged. I reduced my other intakes and add the calories to my FD.

MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal boasts of large food database. If you cannot find your food, you can look for something close to it.  I was surprised they have dinengdeng and papaitan. I set my goal at 1,200 calories per day since i wanted to shed off 5 kilos in 5 weeks. Well, I don't exercise thus the low calorie requirement. I do some jumping jacks for a minute and it's equivalent to 8 calories burned. I am just amazed that I don't feel weak at all.

I started bringing my packed meals to the office instead of getting the food from the office cafeteria or eating out. So happy that I can enjoy variety from longganisa and egg to stirfried spinach and enoki mushrooms.

half cup brown rice, longganisa, one sliced tomato and boiled egg the day after my GM Diet

half cup red rice, stirfried spinach and Enoki mushrooms prepared by my loving and supportive BH
After 6 days of using the tool, I lost another 2.2lbs. I am now 62 kilos. My goal is at least 55 to 58 kilos or 121 to 128 lbs.

as of Aug 14, 2012 PM
I sent invites to Y and Z but I'm not sure if they tried using the tool.

Hoping to reach my goal.

GM Diet

BH and I started with this diet regimen that Y and Z strongly convinced me to try. After a year, I gave in.

It's a week-long diet that could modify your tastebuds, detoxify your body and let you shed 10 to 17 pounds. We weighed in last weekend and a whopping 154 pounds (70 kilograms)shocked me. Is that how huge I am now? I looked around me hoping to see an elephant's foot behind me or stepping on the scale.  Goodness! I am the elephant!

So, with BH's support, I decided to give it a "go". Although I was a little apprehensive about the water (H20) requirement. I have to drink at least 8 glasses. Whew! I was not sure then if I can comply with this.

First day (July 31) is fruits day (except banana and avocado). We had apple for breakfast, pear for snack, pineapple for lunch, dragon fruit (courtesy of Z, thanks mucho) as PM snack, watermelon and papaya for dinner. All throughout the 7-day diet, we are required to consume 8 to 10 glasses a day. Whew! I only had 6. When I checked later in the evening, what I saw on the scale really surprised me. I am 11 pounds (5 kilograms) lighter! Wow, this is really working. But the first day is really an agony for me. I smelled my colleague's lunch, DS is teasing me that his dinner (rellenong bangus) smells good and the crisp sound of the chips munched by my officemate, made me crazy! Control! H20 achievement: 6 glasses only!

Second day, is vegetables day. Breakfast was mashed potatoes with a tiny amount of butter. Oh my, it tastes good sans the salt and the works.... I really appreciated the taste of plain boiled potatoes. I brought to work my lunch consisting of 1 sliced cucumber, 2 carrots, lettuce and blanched asparagus. Everything is so tasteless.  I can take the plain asparagus, but the lettuce is horrible! And the carrots, I managed to eat only more than half of one piece. I had them as in-between treats. For dinner, we had lettuce again cucumber and the left over carrots plus blanched asparagus (which is heavenly). I wanted to walk away from the dinner table when I smelled the longganisa on DS' plate. Second day was the most horrible day. H2O achievement: 7 glasses.

Third day, we had apple and melon(cantaloupe) for breakfast.Lunch was lettuce, cucumber with dressing (balsamic vinegar, olive oil, pinch of salt, lemon and black pepper) and pineapple. It was heavenly and I imagined eating adobo. My morning snack was watermelon and in the afternoon, I devoured the dragon fruit that Z brought (thanks for saving my day). Dinner was papaya and asparagus. Things were getting better. H20 achievement: 7 glasses.

Fourth day, breakfast was 1 piece banana (lakatan type) and one cup warm milk (I bought the Cowhead brand 99.5% fat free). Lunch was 2 pieces banana and milk. In between I had bananas and milk. On the fourth day, we were allowed up to 8 pieces banana and 3 cups of milk. I was not able to finish all the bananas otherwise, I'll go BANANAS....Hahahaha! For dinner, we had the GM WONDER SOUP. I followed the recipe for the soup. BH hated the celery. H20 achievement: 6 glasses.

Fifth day, thank God it's Saturday. I cooked breakfast steak sliced thinly seasoned with balsamic vinegar, little salt, pepper, 1 tomato and olive oil. Finally, MEAT!!!! It was nirvana! Lunch was lean ground beef mixed with 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, salt, 3 tomatoes, olive oil and a little balsamic again. Dinner was a combination of the breakfast and dinner. H20 achievement : 6 glasses. I started to worry because the instructions require to increase water intake by 1 quart. Ugh!

Sixth day, it was beef and veggies all you can. Breakfast was same as yesterday. Lunch was beef burger in lettuce wraps, topped with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, onion and cucumber seasoned with balsamic vinegar, pepper, olive oil and little salt. It was better than the burger in a bun. So yummy!.Dinner was blanched okra and kangkong, bamboo shoots salad and 2 pieces burger. H20 achievement: 7 glasses.

Seventh day, I checked my weight this morning. I'M 63 KILOS OR 7 KILOS LIGHTER. That translates to 15.4 LBS!!!! Wow!

I went to work and ate my breakfast of papaya and dalandan and 2 glasses of water. For lunch, i packed 1 cup of brown rice, grilled eggplant with tomato and left-over bamboo shoots salad. In between treats are pear and apple. For dinner, we planned on having squash and gourd (patola). I will be preparing dalandan juice tonight.Hmmm...I deserve a certificate for this.

My plan is to undergo this diet, once a month. Let's see....

diet - t = die (lol)

It started on that day when I received that invitation to a wedding of an in-law -- my desire to seriously go on diet again.  I just stopped eating rice and, as much as possible, pork.  Other forms of carbs are allowed though, like bread and pasta.  Obviously, it is not a structured diet.

It worked for me.  After more than a month, I lost more than 10 pounds.  From 134-137 pounds, I now weight between 120-124 pounds.  I still want my pre-pregnancy weight which is 112 pounds.  However, my short term goal is to breach the 120 lb mark, and just be below 120 lb for a bit of time.  I would be very much satisfied if I went below 120 lb that I am sure I would be more inspired to go lower and lower.  My plan is, when I reach my ideal weight, I will start making myself stronger and will exercise more.  Abs, wait for me, I will see you soon!

Last Thursday, I was able to convince the Big Boy to follow X's lead -- GM Diet.  Because I already bought the fruits and vegetables, to be consumed for Days 1-3, he had no choice but to acquiesce.  At the end of Day 2 though, I noticed that he was no longer coherent.  Hahaha.  Exaggeration aside, he was really feeling weak.  I asked him if he still wanted to continue.  He told me that maybe the blanched brocolli and the broiled eggplant without any seasoning did it.  He did not wish to continue further, even with the promise of beef on the 5th day and shedding 10-17 pounds at the end of the 7th day.

We checked his weight and he lost 2 pounds already.  Not much, but I made him promise that he will really follow my unstructured but effective-for-me diet.  He promised me that, after trying the GM diet, he is ready to give up rice and pork, for as long he can eat a variety of food and tasteful ones.

Going back, I guess the GM Diet is really not for everyone.  I would like to know if X and her BH were able to finish it.  I am sure they did it.  I am looking forward to X's post about it.

xoxo, Y
