It's More Fun in Looneyta (Luneta)

BH and DS forced me to wake up on a cloudy Saturday morning.
I refused to change to a jogging gear because I am really not into running. I opted to wear walking shorts, slippers (I'm so KJ), and shirt and brought a small chair and my Ipad to "Looneyta" (Luneta). 

I sat to my heart's content and finished the book I've been reading since last month.
"Taho" man passed by and asked him to give me 10-peso cup. He didn't leave so I asked for another cup.
Wohoo, the best. I continued reading and a loud bell stirred me. Ding,ding,ding!

Oooh, it's Thomas and "Friends???". Hey

People in a hurry to board the train

Hay Luneta! I was curious and asked the Manong Train Driver how much they charge for a ride (a round trip, literally from the Rizal statue to Taft side then back). It's Php50 per pax. I used to have a picture here with some colleagues. It's for a photo contest showing unity "achuchuchu". I recall my department getting third place, but not for a photo on the train.

Moving out from the crowd of riders, I got into a corner near an all white statue and saw one family taking photos just below it.

Oh, it's "La Madre Filipina". Mother Philippines. I don't understand why the figure below the statue (bald head) was made that way.

The joggers arrived and time to head to Jollibee for breakfast. Wiiiiiiiihhhhh! Yun lang naman inaabangan ko!

A tarpaulin caught my attention. It's the contoversial tourism motto and I can't help but take a photo.

It's really true! Whatever people say, this is very true!
Luneta pa lang yan, but I already enjoyed the sight by just sitting in one corner. It was relaxing despite the ding, ding, ding. The taho was superb! Seeing the families gather around and share simple joys of flying a kite, catching ball, walking their dogs, biking and just lazing on the grass -refreshing sight.I saw Koreans taking pictures with the Lapu-Lapu statue. African exchange students playing football with some kids. Simple joys,ya know!

I just hope the Department of Tourism will exert more effort to bring in more tourists.

"Oh DOT when will you restore the glory of your once magnificent building."
 I heard they're planning to have this converted into a hotel. Whaaaaat?

Doggie Drama

If there's a drama queen, there's a drama pup.
After an exhausting trip my little doggie slept like a log errr...dog?

Rotties never failed to amuse and entertain me.

He's more tired than me notwithstanding that I carried him insde the car for the entire trip.

He just wanted to be picked up and cuddled.

This, I must do while he's still a pup.

Can't do it anymore when he grows into more than 20 kilos.Ugh!

Remembering Busog Trip 1

I was craving for the "kakanin" I ate months ago.
While, I loved the "biko" prepared by Mr. Suahe last December, the sweetness that I tasted from the "kakanin" I'm craving for is haunting me like a sweet nightmare.

Yesterday was quite a "war" day for me and BH. So much with the "kababawan" that started with hot air balloon show...!

When BH came to get me in the office, after cooling off outside Manila the whole afternoon, he brought me something he knew that I cannot resist.

I was ecstatic (OA) that I almost forgot that I was still in "topak' mode.
When i had my first slice, BH was looking at me. I know a suppressed laugh when it comes to his face.
Then he said, " Tsk tsk tsk, bibingka lang pala ang solusyon".

"Nemo" in Cartimar

Notwithstanding the stress I had last weekend, I still found a refreshing sight when I was in Cartimar, Pasay.
Seeing the gorgeous aquariums that they have in the "Aqualand", it made me a bit envious of the set-up they showcased on saltwater fish tanks.

Then I saw "Nemo"! No, not the cartoon type. It's in the fish tank.
I was mesmerized by the color of this lovely clown fish that I opted to stay in the stall while DS and BH looked for frogs. (Funny, the stall where I stayed was selling bullfrog)

Nemo is a clown fish or anemone fish. They live in anemones and keeping a "symbiotic relationship" with them. Talk about lasting relationship. Hahaha! It's love month already!

Anyway, symbiotic relationship is not the "MU" or "It's Complicated" status or any platonic set-up. It's a give and take relationship. Both anemone and clown fish provide food and protection to each other. In a utilitarian set-up, they thrive.

Seeing this sole anemone in the fish tank is so refreshing. It's just so unfortunate that I only took one shot because we have to leave.

Well, as to the frog requirement, the teacher finally agreed to  accept bullfrog. So BH had to go back to Cartimar last Monday.

Very timely because it is the 1st day of the month of love. And what better way to express one's love than to fight for the loved one's honor.

pinoy junk food

pinoy spaghetti flavored corn chips, would you believe?! ...from jack n jill. tastes like corn chips dipped in ufc or jufran banana catsup...kinda on the sweet side --- indeed, pinoy spaghetti!  won't be surprised if i find hotdog bits, hehe!  pinoy spaghetti flavored corn chips in a red bag --- ain't it the sweetest junkie to start the "love" month! major!
